I was thinking of going and getting a manicure/pedicure and have never had one before. I was thinking of getting the french tips, but I'm not sure if I need to grow out my nails or if they put on fake nails or if I can just leave them the way they are now?Manicure/pedicure???
Well, when getting french tips put on, they have to trim your real nails down as much as they can and then apply the tips. This is so the acrylic nails have more of a support/foundation. That and it wouldn't look right because it'd have a double layer look and is harder to keep your nails clean. Or if you want to wait and grow your nails out then they can paint the tips
Note to blue eyed male: You can get acrylics on toes. I did.. You just have to specify. The ones on my toes lasted longer than the ones on my fingers lolManicure/pedicure???
The more natural white part of your nail you have, the easier. If your nails are really short, they can extend the tip down your nail a little. I recommend growing your nails a little bit, because they can always file them down and shape them for you.
Unless you want them to put on fake nails, then it really doesnt matter.
they will just cut ur nails off and use fake ones so u dont have to grow them and get frence tips if this is your first time
they put them on, but where i live you have to be 16 or have a parent with you to get acrylics.
if you're that young, i'd just get a mani. Thats no big deal.
THEY WILL PUT FAKE ONES ON. AND THEY FEEL SO GOOD. HAVE FUN
I did this for Christmas. I grew my nails out, and the cut them all off! But just a tip, ask them not to file your nails too much, or they look discussing and they are brittle and thin when you take them off. I got this done on Christmas Eve, and my nails are still recovering. But they are almost normal again.
you can do either, they will do whatever you want them to do.
I recommend growing your nails out rally long; like nine inches or so. Long nails are hot!
Since you didnt specify... Manicure is Finger Nails %26amp; Pedicure is for Toes.
Manicure (Fingers):
French manicure is manicured with your natural nails. Full set is fake nails. if you get the fake nails you just leave your nails as is.. if they need trimmed they will do it for you. If you want airbrush you will probally want fake nails because the paint doesnt stay real well with natural nails.
Pedicure (Toes):
They will not apply a fake nail to your toes... nor will they airbrush. If the nail stylist is a good one he/she should be able to paint the white lines on them no matter what legnth.. if they asre too long they will trim them...
Leave them the way they are!!! Sometimes fake nails and/or tips can look fake/trashy. Try a french mani/pedi, it makes your nails look longer.
They can put fake nails on, but if I were you I would grow my nails out. When you grow your nails out and they are not perfect, then it gives them an opportunity to get them cleaned up and growing on the right track so you won't have to go back as often.
For a French manicure, usually your nails have to be sort of long. You can ask the person to do it on short nails, but your finger tips will probably end up looking rather awkward and stubby.
Your nails don't need to be super long or anything, just grow them out for about a week or so and they should be perfect.
if your own nails are long enough, they can paint them in a french manicure. If not, you can get tips put on, but just so you know, tips (fake nails) need to be filled every few weeks (depending how fast your nails grow. Filled means your nails grow, now there is a ';gap'; between your cuticle and where the acrylic was put on. Looks crappy, so you will have to have them filled. And eventually, when you get the tips removed, your natural nails are kind of brittle and weak. Takes a while for your own nails to jump back to hard, strong nails.
i suggest getting the tips but getting pink and whites over them.
It will last longer and look more natural. you don't need to really grow your nails out as long as they aren't ridiculously short. you should just leave your nails because they will fix them however they are.
you can leave them the way they are. they create a cleaner line instead of following your natural line, which is the point of a french. wen i got one i did like a peacock blue for the tips so u might want to think about doin a crazy color like that just for fun
Ok, well u can get a normal french manicure which is just the painting in which case u wud need to have longer nails. Or you can have something called gel tips where they basically put extensions on the end of ur nails so theyre longer then they do the french manicure over those. Gel tips strengthen and protect ur nails while they grow longer underneath the fake tips. Its expensive tho, u wud probably be best going in and talking to your local nail technician...dont worry, they wont bite!
If you want fake nails you should know that when you take them off your nail is thin and takes awhile to grow back. Also if you go to a bad place they can cut your fingers with the drill thing. You might want your nails grown out if you are not getting fake nails other wise they might not look that good. But if i had to chose i would get fake nails they look better.
no they can just paint them on. you can get fake nails if you want. but that would be a manicure and a full set
i got fake nails once and i had kinda short nails the people will take care of u
they could put on fake nails, but i'd wait to grow your own nails out... That way you can change style much easier. good nails are an excelent asset.
it depends how long you want the tips to be. if your nails are at least a little long you can tell them to leave it or else they'll just trim it and put on the tips. it really all depends on who you go to. some places will only put on fake tips and others will jus paint it on.
wow how are you a girl and not know these things??
holy crap what is this world coming to.....
